So I’ve been officially unemployed for a month and under normal circumstances would have been back at work last week – eek! It is both liberating and scary. After thirty something years in teaching I am jumping off the hamster wheel to try living a life outside of the schoolyard. Don’t get me wrong, this has been a wonderful and deeply fulfilling career but sometime last year that alarm clock began to feel like a tolling of the bells of doom and I resented it. I am going to take a risk now and stop marking other people’s essays and instead write my own. These will be life musings, travel insights, book recommendations, foodie and drinky likes. The flight to Argentina is booked for the end of January and until then it will have been Christmas, New Year and farewell festivities, beachside lolling, many walks around the lake and happy hour 🥂
